I can’t believe it, but it’s August already — and the start of school is looming.
Soon after, the weather will cool off and it’ll be officially fall. That’s when all the colds and flu start to circulate! I’m being proactive this year about keeping my kids healthy, and that means preparing my remedies now.
Some of these remedies will help to ward off your run-of-the-mill flu, cold, stomach bug, and so on. Some, I use at the first hint of symptoms (and sometimes it works and we don’t get sick!). Some can be prepared in a couple hours, but some will take 6 weeks to sit, so — it’s time to make them now.
Included in here are some of my favorite “general” remedies, that I use for stuff like teething or general aches and pains.
These are my 10 best remedies, that I use most often and that work best for us!

Natural Remedies for Kids is Here!
If you love herbal remedies as much as I do — or at least, if you’d love to learn more about them! — then you’ll want to grab your copy of Natural Remedies for Kids now.
Back just 7 years ago, I had an interest in natural and herbal remedies but no clue where to start. I found it totally overwhelming and intimidating. But, I started by researching one herb and one “issue” at a time, until I had amassed the knowledge — and herbal arsenal! — to treat my family’s common and minor ailments. Now, in our home, natural remedies are just normal, and the kids even know which to ask for!
From one mama to another, I’m sharing my knowledge with you. This book explains all I wish I’d known when I was first getting started — the different types of preparation methods, best herbs to keep on hand, how to store them and safely use them, and more.
There are four main sections to the book. Respiratory, digestive, skin and hair, and emotional. In each, you’ll find common symptoms listed with suggestions on what might have caused it, when you should worry (and call the doctor), and ideas on how to help at home. At the end of each section, there are several recipes for different herbal remedies. The book’s filled with gorgeous photographs, and bits of wisdom from my excellent co-author, Dr. Bob (board-certified pediatrician and father of 8).
The book officially debuted last August! Order the book right here!
