It’s a hot summer day, all the kids in a 10 mile radius are full of energy, and you just need a cool refreshing snack…you know, to serve the kiddos 😉! Don’t worry, we won’t tell that it is just as much for us as it is for them!

Stress has a way of sneaking in and threatening to overwhelm us fast. That’s why purposeful and healthy snacks and treats are so helpful. Why not cool down physically AND mentally?

Adaptogens are herbs that help our body respond to stress so we can find our calm and relax better. You can learn more about helpful herbs in Natural Ways to Reduce Stress & Anxiety and 7 Herbs to Reduce Stress & Anxiety.

Are you ready for the recipes? We tried two yummy versions. We won’t talk about the non-yummy one we tried lol – let’s just say, the chickens liked them plenty at least!

Cocoa Calm is a cocoa powder mixed with 3 key adaptogenic herbs: ashwagandha root, eleuthero root, and rhodiola root. Kate developed this for her store, Earthley Wellness

Step 2: Pour into a mold

We love to have healthy and purposeful treats – especially in the hot weather! If you are looking for some cold weather sweets, try Bone Broth Hot Chocolate! Need a sweet treat any time? Try Calming Peanut Butter Cups, another version of them, or Stress-Reducing Chocolate Balls.

What’s your favorite hot weather treat?

Rustina started studying herbs and natural living after allopathic medicine was unable to provide answers or support when she needed it. She is continually working on learning more and improving her and her family’s health, diving in and researching any topic. A love of learning led her to homeschool and begin working from home. She now spends each day with her husband and four sons as they travel on their home education journey together. She is thankful for the opportunity to write about these interests and passions for Earthley Wellness and Modern Alternative Mama.
