I really don’t know how you’d describe these pills, exactly. They are a combination of three powerful herbs, which can fight just about any type of virus, bacteria, inflammation, pain, infection…you name it. Hence, “anti-everything.”
They contain turmeric, which is strongly anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and all around awesome. Also acerola berry powder (pure), which is very high in vitamin C. Finally, goldenseal root powder, which is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, immune-boosting, and enhances the potency of other herbs it’s taken with. So, as you see, pretty amazing stuff.
I take 1 – 2 pills a day if I am sick or feel like I might be getting sick. I think that they could be taken more often, but be careful with them — they’re potent.
Ingredients (by weight):
- 3 oz. turmeric root powder (buy here)
- 1 1/2 oz. acerola berry powder (buy here)
- 1/2 oz. goldenseal root powder (buy here)
Directions:
Place a glass jar or bowl onto a kitchen scale and 0 it out. Add the herbs to it by weight.
Shake the jar (with a lid on) to combine thoroughly.
Now, you just have to fill the capsules. This will make around 300, maybe 350. I did about 200 and kept the rest of the mix in the glass jar for later. If you can get a capsule machine, they are so much faster. It takes a good minute to fill a capsule manually; I can fill 24 in 2 – 3 minutes with the machine. They only cost about $12, so if you plan to make capsules more than a few times, you should get one. I also used mine to make more liver pills after I finished this set.
Store the finished pills in a glass jar in a cool, dry place. That’s it!
Can we just order them from you? the anit everything pill
Is turmeric root powder the same as the turmeric you buy in the grocery or is it something else?
Are these for adults only? This recipe looks amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Is there a way to convert this into a tea or tincture instead of making the pills?
I think it might be good to point out that turmeric should not be taken medicinally during pregnancy or if trying to conceive; and goldenseal is also something to be cautious of as both can cause uterine contractions. Turmeric was used traditionally in blends for natural birth control.
Next time you make these, will you please estimate the measurements, for those of us that don’t have scales to weigh them out?
Thanks!
Are these to be taken only when sick or feel like you’re getting sick? Can they be taken everyday to prevent illness? Also can I take this in addition to Elderberry Syrup? Thanks, love this site!
I’m interested in getting a capsule machine but not sure what size capsules to use… What size do you recommend…. Size 000?
I will add a couple things to keep in mind to this recipe:
Goldenseal root is a very potent antimicrobial and is generally not recommended to use for more than 3 weeks at a time without at least 1 week break. It would also be a good idea to take probiotics or eat extra fermented foods during and after use to replenish any healthy gut bacteria that may have taken a hit.
Goldenseal root can be expensive (because of over-harvesting, especially in the wild), so some people use Oregon Grape Root as a substitute because they share similar compounds (and it is less expensive).
Thank you, Jill. I was going to suggest an alternative to the endangered goldenseal.
Is this safe to take during pregnancy?
Sharing on FB – very interesting!
Can you take while breastfeeding?
I have often heard about the ‘bio-availability’ of turmeric…meaning the body absorbs it better when it is mixed with another compound (example: black pepper). Is there any truth to this and if so, how would that affect the recipe? Thank you 🙂
What size capsules do you generally make? 0, 00, etc?
I use elderberry, baking soda, and ginger. it worked today for a mild stomach bug.
” I think that they could be taken more often, but be careful with them — they’re potent.”
Can you please explain what you mean by “they’re potent”
Thank you.
It would be good to add ginger root as the tumeric needs the heat from it to work at it’s best.
Two questions. Is this safe to give to children? And would it work to mix into yogurt or applesauce so they could eat it?
[…] remedies are gentle but potent. I love that if I have a headache, I can grab one of my anti-everything pills, and it’s probably going to work — without any side effects. (It won’t work […]
Kate, I’ve seen several comments asking whether this is safe to use while nursing or pregnant. I’d be interested to see an answer, since I expect to be pregnant or nursing for the next couple years. 🙂
What do you think? Thanks.
My go to remedy is Oregano Oil capsules. Boosts the immune system and is a natural antibiotic. Good for stomach problems, lung problems, and will stop a UTI in it’s tracks. My mom has chronic UTI’s. I started her on a regimen of one 150mg concentrated 10-1 capsule a day and it did what the prescription medicine her doctor gave her didn’t,. It got rid of the UTI and helped her stomach problems. Now she takes one daily as a preventative. I take them if I feel cruddy, it cures the problem before it becomes a problem.
