Pizza. One of the few foods most of us can agree is just plain delicious. The topping opportunities are endless, some even controversial (pineapple). In the end, just about everyone loves a good slice of pizza. Let me share one of my favorite homemade pizza recipes — white pizza.
Before we get started, you will need to prepare the pizza dough. I love my soaked pizza dough recipe. It takes 12 – 18 hours (if soaking) before it’s ready (most of which is ‘wait’ time, not active).
Once your pizza dough is prepared and pre-baked for five minutes, it’s time to make some white pizza (this goes by quickly)!
White Pizza
Ingredients:
- Two pizza doughs (I recommend my soaked pizza dough, which makes 2 pizzas)
- 4 – 6 tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. garlic powder (or 2 – 3 cloves fresh crushed garlic)
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
Directions:
Step 1: After pre-baking your crust per the pizza dough recipe, add 2 – 3 tablespoons of butter to the pizza. Sprinkle with garlic powder, basil, and sea salt. (Or spread the crushed garlic.)
Step 2: Sprinkle the cheese over the top.
Step 3: Bake at 425ºF for about 10 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
Serve immediately. You can do this as-is or add marinara sauce for dipping if you’re so inclined.
