When you hear a bookworm saying that they would tear apart a book, that's your cue to leave this forever in the dusty not picked up pile. Honestly, this whole book was just making out, screaming at each other, fighting, and characters acting like all around stereotypical abusive teenagers. To put it simply. So you're got a shaky foundation. To add to that, I found quite a f Oh dear. To add to that, I found quite a few typos and grammatical errors, and the author's writing style wasn't good to begin with. So you're adding some cheap bones to that house. Then, to top it all off, this book is problematic in terms of the main character keeps deciding to come back to an unreliable, abusive idiot.
So obviously our house fell down. To start this book off, we have Elle and Liam lay around not doing anything, cracking offensive jokes that rely on gender standards. So that was a fun twenty percent. Unfortunately, my calculator does not compute these highly unrealistic, just simply stupid events. So we're just going to talk about why this is problematic. Basically, Noah's been going around telling boys that he'll hurt them if is the kissing booth good boys rated ask Elle on a date.
Not to mention the fact that he's threatening assault on people who did absolutely nothing. And that also plays a big theme throughout the kissing, but that's definitely not in the way it should. What should've happened is Elle should have stood up to Noah and told him to quit it, the fact that you can't command another person's life or dating life and it is not hot when someone does should've come into play, and many other discussions about it should've been held. Instead, Elle hasn't gone through a first kiss, first date, doesn't know how to act on dates, etc.
I'm not sure this could've gotten any more shallow. The fact that Noah's been controlling her dating life and not letting her do her own thing also makes Noah super super hot. There were also moments when Noah would force Elle into making bogs or doing whatever else when she had clearly said no. And that is a big no-no. N-O Noah. Can you say it with me? Since it's quite obviously this kisssing has shown he has no idea what the meaning of that word is. I'm not even going to begin to dive into these shallow, self obsessed characters and this cringe-worthy writing, but to put it shortly, they were awful.

So many elements and layers lacked in this book, especially the cast of parental characters, who are supposed to play a strong role in the life of these teenagers, and the transition from having a mother to having no mother in the life of Elle is pathetically depicted in the book.
Like I said, the characters lacked to show any kind of emotion, only teenagers action high on their hormones. But hey, if you want to re-live your teenage summer days blazing in the afterglow of the summer sun and a hot crush's kiss on your lips, then do grab a copy of this book now, as the author has vividly painted the summer days and how teenagers waste it high on alcohol, parties, kisses and one-night stands. Going to start this review by saying that I did not know of this book's existence until the film on Netflix came out and I became obsessed with the storyline. I have been a Wattpad member since and never heard of it, and I'm kinda upset I hadn't because it was actually a really interesting book. But, there were some scenes in the book I would've preferred that it had learn more here in the film, but then there were scenes that were right off the page onto the screen. I think both materials are great on their own. The film has the same characters, same plot line, but a different line-up of events. The book, well, same thing, just some different events, again.
I read this novel in one night, and I can honestly say I barely remember most of it once I finished it. Like I remember a few scenes like party scenes and some scenes I remember that were in the movie too, but not much stuck from the book onto my mind. That's mainly why I scored this book a 3. It was decently written, especially for a seventeen year old; I write on Wattpad, myself, and I found it so cool to be reading someones work that derived from there. But, like I said, it wasn't as memorable as I wanted it to be. I think he was well written, gokd at the same time, I don't think so. He was very controlling, protective, possessive, and aggressive. In a way, he reminded me of Christian Is the kissing booth good boys rated the way he acted towards Elle and others. And yes, he did develop, it wasn't a notable development that awed me, though. But I did get annoyed at the fact he smoked like twice in the whole novel, being a bad boy, but like it never came up again. I kind of liked Elle, like I felt a connection to her when she would speak, how she would act - I felt like I understood her reasoning for her actions and all. She was a good protagonist. But that's literally all I can say about her. She was cliche. Give it a bit of a twist? Guess not lol. Lee was probably my favourite character of all. He was the most unproblematic, and understanding. He was her best friend and he was every best friend goal in one. He was sweet, helpful and always there for her.
Even when he found out she screwed his brother, he was mad for a chapter or two but he forgave her because he understood why she had kept it a secret. Hoys didn't know whether I wanted to date him or be his best friend, but I think I ended up deciding to be his best friend because Noah is my bf and bc Noah was the main love interest, I was drawn to him first xD. The movie is very different, but I think I liked the execution of the movie better. Kiseing would recommend this book, however, to someone who wants a bad boy romance. But, then again, I'd probably recommend the movie before the book, in this same case scenario. Let me go kkissing in the mirror to make sure I didn't pull all my hair out I'm exaggerating, of course.
