It is projected that the problem of aging workforce will getting serious in the construction industry as the industry is relies heavily on workers. Earlier studies focused on skill shortage, there are limited studies examine the issue of aging workforce in construction industry.

Hence, the aim of this research is to examine the effect of aging workforce in construction industry to increase the awareness of the severity of aging workforce and its effects on construction industry. Survey questionnaire was conducted for data collection.

The Aging Workforce and Group Benefits

About 50 respondents took part in this survey. Total thirteen causes and thirteen impacts of aging workforce were identified through literatures.

Questionnaire results showed the highest and lowest causes and impacts of aging workforce that ranked by the respondents. These findings provide a clear understanding of the causes and impacts of aging workforce that the clients and contractors could develop and implement right strategies to solve the aging issue.
