Occasionally, that does happen. Yet more often, problematic behaviors become habit, and habit becomes part of a child's character.

That is why we teach social skills to children with behavioral problems. We want our kids to develop positive social alternatives to their "red" negative behaviors so that the "green" positive behaviors become a habit. Eventually, those positive habits will become the essence of their wonderful character.
