Till now, the works on documentation for the 14 endangered languages, their scripts as well as primers remain incomplete, confirmed officials of International Mother Language Institute. No complete primary education programme in any language spoken by the ethnic minority groups was introduced while only one volume of the 10 ethnolinguistic volumes planned was published till now, they added. Rights activists alleged that in recent years there were no major works to preserve the ethnic minority languages while the government should establish a language academy at national level dedicated to these languages. Back in , the IMLI was formed with the aim to collect, preserve, conduct research and training programmes on all languages of the world, including those of the ethnic minority groups.
