I still believe they do. The trials of the black folks are difficult to get over because it plays a major role in our lives today. To think that we can move on and forget what has happened to us is asinine because we have a constant reminder, and that is the color of our skin. Today, black folks are battling the same battles that their predecessors fought just so they can prove that they are equal.

There was this one time where I found myself being stereotyped because of my skin color; it was not too long ago. We just finished eating at a Chinese buffet called Dynasty. Time passed and we finally came to the conclusion that she left us.

Later, we found out that she was at nearby store and she was coming back to get us. My first thought came in a form of questions.

Or are these people prejudice? Despite that, blacks are still trying to be what America wants them to be, and that is inferior. In schools, they belittle the black race and teach whites as well as blacks that whites are superior.

This false doctrine has taken an effect on the black community, leading black folks into losing their identity. We also have black folks believing that fellowshipping with whites is more suitable than fellowshipping with blacks. White institutions are doing their part to keep the blacks down. All in all, black folks need to stick together and show that they are not inferior to whites.

Segregation still lives, discrimination still lives, stereotypes still lives, racism still lives, so black folks have to fight around these disadvantages and prove that black is not terrible because black is beautiful.]

Leave a reply James Baldwin is an excellent writer and he has a very linguistic intelligence for writing. I am in total agreement of the picture painted by whites for the stereotypes of blacks. Must blacks carry themselves according to the stereotypes white America has planted in their brains; or should blacks break the negative stereotypes and live by necessary morals? Being a black in America is thought to be a crime, because we are often dehumanized when we make mistakes. However, the thought of blacks created by white America is only a figment of our imagination until we should always strive for greatness and neglect negative stereotypes. Justice for a person of color is rarely given or acknowledged, but what if we become the justice system?
