I have only used tap water. Distilled would provide longer life as there are no minerals to deposit on the ultrasonic disks. I would not use anything other makerr water. I think alcohol would create an explosion hazard. Stay tuned, I am working on another alternate fog machine that will not use expensive parts and hopefully will perform as well.
