I specially liked it because Goodreavs was able to read it before watching the movie meaning I imagined myself the characters and then I compared them to the ones in the movie. It is based on teenagers growing up, living new experiences and having to face different consequences. At first, I read the book as an obligation to having to read numerous pages per day until I really wanted to read more everyday which is why I wou The Kissing Booth is a novel I really enjoyed reading and I got very stuck to it.
Elle kisses Noah. The kissing booth runs for a full five pages. So that's where our making out, fighting, screaming, and abuse comes in. The rest of the book on is just that. Making out, fighting, screaming, and abuse. This is the most basic book that I have ever read with my own two eyes. How this got published? How it got adapted by Netflix? Unfortunately, my calculator does not compute these highly unrealistic, just simply stupid events. So we're just going to talk about why this is problematic. Basically, Noah's been going around telling boys that he'll hurt them if they ask Elle on a date. Not to mention the fact that he's threatening assault on people who did absolutely nothing. And that also plays a big theme throughout the book, but that's definitely not in the way it should.
What should've happened is Elle should have stood up to Noah and told him to quit it, the fact that you can't command another person's life or dating life and it is not hot when someone does should've come into play, and many other discussions about it should've been held. Instead, Elle hasn't gone through a first kiss, first date, the kissing booth goodreads movie know how to act on dates, etc. I'm not sure this could've gotten any more shallow. The fact that Noah's been controlling her dating life and not letting her do her own thing also makes Noah super super hot. There were also moments when Noah would force Elle into making out or doing whatever else when she had clearly said no. And that is a big no-no. N-O Noah. Can you say it with me? Since it's quite obviously this book has shown he has no idea what the meaning of that word is.
I'm not even going to begin to dive into these shallow, self obsessed characters and this cringe-worthy writing, but to put it shortly, they were awful. Long story short, I hated this book and will never recommend it to anyone unless of course they're looking for a book to compete with their least favorite book. Imagine my surprise when I discovered this was written by a kid. A 17 year old to be exact and she actually wrote it unlike just slapping her name on it like the trainwreck the kissing booth goodreads movie was Girl Online. The story here is simple — girl and boy Elle and Lee have been best friends literally since their birth on the same day, in the same hospital. But when the school carnival rolls around and Elle and Lee find themselves running the most popular booth of all, things start going a little sideways. What can go wrong, right? If you grew up on John Hughes movies and are not a member of Generation Butthurt, you might find read article enjoyable as well. Lee is a childish kind of guy, who protected Elle like his own sister, practically, they acted like twin siblings as they were born on the same day and at the exact same time. So together, they plan a Kissing Booth for charity on their school's spring carnival. But to Elle's surprise, who has never been kissed before, found herself kissing the guy whom she had a crush on like forever, and that is, Lee's older brother, Noah.
Now Elle and Lee made a bunch of childish friendship rules when they were kids, so dating or kissing or sleeping with Noah would be big no-no for Elle and Lee's friendship. Anyhow, Noah and Elle begin to see each other secretly, but hell breaks loose, when Lee finds out about their relationship. What will happen then? The kissing booth goodreads movie author's writing style is okay, not that great. The plot lacks emotions, hence the readers will fail to connect with the characters and their emotions. The dialogues are crappy and way too cheesy, no one, especially, no teenager now talk or communicate in this fashion ever. For realistic dialogues, refer to the book, 13 Reasons Why. As a whole, the story is "too been there, done that" kind, it's a very common story, when a girl is falling for her best friend's brother.
But what the book lacked strongly was the true essence of friendship and its bond between Elle and Lee, instead of shedding too much light on the immature teenagish love story between Elle and Noah. The characters are not at all close to reality, they lack honesty in their demeanor. I felt like reading about a bunch of fashion models who happen to be fictional. So many elements and layers lacked in this book, especially the cast of parental characters, who are supposed to play a strong role in the life of these teenagers, and the transition from having a mother to having no mother in the life of Elle is pathetically depicted in the book. Like I said, the characters lacked to show any kind of emotion, only teenagers action high on their hormones. But hey, if you want to re-live your teenage summer days blazing in the afterglow of the the kissing booth goodreads movie sun and a hot crush's kiss on your lips, then do grab a copy of this book now, as the author has vividly painted the summer days and how teenagers waste it high on alcohol, parties, kisses and one-night stands.
PS: The movie is as pathetic as the book, so don't waste your time in watching it on Netflix. Sadly I was wrong, and I'm feeling pretty disappointed to say the least. Girl is best friend with boy. Boys older brother is a dick. Girl likes the older brother. Older brother is possessive and like to fight. Girl and boy date in secret. Shit hits the fa 1. Shit hits the fan. It recovers. Oh no It's okay again, we can ride off on a bike in the happy sunset not actually true but you get the meaning. I don't like the fact that Noah is described to love Violence and that Elle kind of likes it as he wouldn't be him without it.
The writing is not the best I know it was by a young author at the time, but you can tell. No character was likeable. Don't do this, don't do that HOW dare you do this. On and on. I have been a Wattpad member since and never heard movue it, and I'm kinda upset I hadn't because it was actually a really interesting book. Though, I enjoyed the film more I think because the storyline in the movie was more emotional considering it was VERY different than the book. Though, it did have its similarities. I found that a Going to start this review by saying that I did not know of this book's existence until the film on Netflix came out and I became obsessed with the storyline. I found that a few lines between the two were shared, which made me super excited. But, link were some scenes in the book I would've preferred that it had been in the film, but then there were scenes that were right off the page onto the screen. I think both materials are great on their own. The film has the same characters, same plot line, but a different line-up of kiszing.
The book, well, same thing, just some different events, again. I read this novel in one night, and I can honestly say I barely remember most of it once I finished it. Like I remember a few scenes like party scenes and some scenes I remember that were in the movie too, but not much stuck from the book onto my mind. That's mainly why I scored this book a 3. He always seemed to be misunderstood from the beginning, and I think since that was his development him not being who everyone thinks, kinda I kind of grasped it from the start, so by the progression, it didn't surprise me when he did other stuff away from the 'cliche' which made it more cliche haha. But I did get annoyed at the fact he smoked like twice in vooth whole novel, being a bad boy, but like it never came up again. Like usually when someone smokes, they can't like hold it in since it is an addiction but y'know, that was just one inconsistency. Noah gets in line and the girl at the booth freaked out and made Rochelle take her place, so Rochelle had to kiss Noah. Her long-ago crush on him resurfaces in full force. And here begins a romance. Noah and Rochelle begin seeing each other in secret because she doesn't want to ruin her relationship with Lee.
That's not even the main thing I had the issue with. Noah is so controlling! He's very protective of Rochelle and yells at and fights boys who flirt with her, ask her out, harass her Some of those cases And whenever Rochelle yells at him about it, he argues back that guys are jerks and don't have good intentions save for him, of course. No chemistry and after two months they were already throwing around I love you's. I was looking for a cute chick lit that would make me swoon. Sadly, such was not the case here.

Wattpad has offered me a lot of stories to read; in fact, some of those I've read have been published.
I'm surprised to find The Kissing Booth on Goodreads I'm not sure whybut it's here and I'm giving it 5 bright stars. The Kissing Booth was one of the first few st I read this a few months ago, when it was already completed. The Kissing Booth was one of the first few stories I've read. It has got me through a lot of emotions that I fell in love with it. Elle and Noah Flynn 's story just draws you to it - to read more, to want more, to fall in love, to get hurt, to ask for more, the kissing booth goodreads movie leaves you wondering. Even if I'm not a fan of such "endings" because I have a penchant for assurance, I don't care this time. I love it. I love it! Technical reviewer: One reason why I pursued reading the stories posted by "Reekles" is because she edits her work. She edits it well. The formatting is very clean - with correct punctuation marks, margins, capitalization, quotations, and other stuff.
The grammar was checked, too. It was as if you were reading an e-book bought from Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Reekles took the job seriously and it paid off big time! Not a lot of writers on Wattpad are like her. There are some who also practice the potence of the kissing booth goodreads movie, but it just so happens that Reekles knows how to get to the hearts of young teens and hopeless romantics looking for a learn more here read. Yet, he's suppose to have perfect grades, be accepted into Harvard, and be secretly sweet and cute? This types of traits were just too contrasting and greatly weakened his character in my opinion. Not to mention that his actions made me swear that it would turn into an abusive relationship. He gets furious if another guy so much as touches her, he tells her she has to change her clothes if he finds it too revealing, and he pretty much grabbed, pulled, and dragged her every chance he got.
I took a health class, and those are all signs of an abusive relationship! I pretty much ended up hating Noah because of that, and I was so relieved when in the end he seemed to stop all of this and became more sweet and gentle. My favorite thing about the entire book though? I swear, that boy is hilarious! And he is by far the best guy friend in existence.
