Why cats give kisses to the human mouth

My friends find it weird that I kiss cats on the mouth! I don't with dogs, but I do with cats. Not sure why. For humans, kissing with our lips is a ubiquitous sign of affection. While cats express their affection in a myriad of ways, lip-on-lip action isn’t exactly one of them. But, every cat parent. It depends on the cat and the kiss. It also depends on how metaphorically you want to stretch the word kiss. Cat’s don’t have lips, like human lips.
