I didn't find this story on WattPad; my mom told me about how a 17 year old had gotten a 3-book deal with Random House after the publishing company found her story online. Because of the fact that it was the publishing house, itself, that contacted HER, I thought that what I was going to be reading would be better than what it was. Master of the Universe did not impress me when it was fan fiction, and since James didn't make any changes when she actually published, I don't like the actual book either. There ARE some really great fanfic writers out there, who I think would be amazing if they wrote their own work. However, despite this being an original story, Reekles is NOT one of those online writers that actually has impressive potential unfortunately. Her story is way too cliched. In the case of The Kissing Booth, it's just one big cliche that repeats itself over and over again. I mean, all that happens is the following: Lee and Elle hang link Guys flirt with Elle without her realizing it Noah gets possessive and beats someone up; Elle gets mad Noah and Elle fight Noah and Elle make up and then make out That process continually repeats itself over and over again.
There's no change that occurs. When you hear a bookworm saying that they would tear apart a book, that's your cue to leave this forever in the dusty not picked up pile. Honestly, this whole book was just making out, screaming at each other, fighting, and characters acting like all around stereotypical abusive teenagers. To put it simply. So you're got a shaky foundation. To add to that, I found quite a f Oh dear. Unfortunately, my calculator does not compute these highly unrealistic, just simply stupid events. So we're just going to talk about why this is problematic. Basically, Noah's goodreadw going around telling boys that he'll hurt them if they ask Elle on a date.
Not to mention the fact that he's threatening assault on people who did absolutely nothing. And that also plays a big theme throughout the book, but that's definitely not in the the kissing booth goodreads movie online watch it should. What should've happened is Elle should have stood up to Noah and told him to quit it, the fact that you can't command another person's life or dating life and it is not hot when someone does should've come into play, and many other discussions about it should've been held. Sometimes you need a little story like The Kissing Booth to help you feel like a kid again. Imagine my surprise when I discovered this was written by a kid. A 17 year old to be exact and she actually wrote it unlike just slapping her name on it like the trainwreck which was Girl Online. The story here is simple — girl and boy Elle and Lee have been best friends literally since their birth on the same day, in the same hospital. But when the school carnival rolls around and Elle and Lee find themselves running the most popular booth of all, things start going a little sideways.
Which leads to Elle and Noah following the sage advice of one R. But seriously, they decide to keep it on the down low. What can go wrong, right? If you grew up on John Hughes movies and are not a member of Generation Butthurt, you might find this enjoyable as well. Or you can make me morph into Mallory Archer and want to scream at you. Because you refuse to stop being obstinate long enough to attempt to understand the points Beth Reekles was trying to get across. I thought this was adorable. A cheesy and cliched rom-com drama is what this book has to offer, one time read, but I guess, the story could have been much better.
And certainly, please not a movie on this book! It's a total pain. Synopsis: Meet Rochelle Evans: pretty, popular--and never been kissed. Elle, a high school junior, is back from the summer haze that turned her into a beautiful young woman. And little did she oissing that she caught the eye of every guy in her school. But unaware of that fact, she went on with her days with her next-door-neighbor-cum-best-friend, Lee. Lee is a childish kind of guy, who protected Elle kovie his own sister, practically, they acted like twin siblings as they were born on the same day and at the exact same time.
So together, they plan a Kissing Booth for charity on their school's spring carnival. But to Elle's surprise, who has never been kissed before, found herself kissing the guy whom she had a crush on like forever, and that is, Lee's older brother, Noah. Now Elle and Lee made a bunch of childish iissing rules when they were kids, so dating or kissing or sleeping with Noah would be big no-no for Elle and Kissibg friendship. Anyhow, Noah and Elle begin to see each other secretly, but hell breaks loose, when Lee finds out about their relationship. What will happen then? As a whole, the story is "too been there, done that" kind, it's a very common story, when a girl is falling for her best friend's brother.

PS: The movie is as pathetic as the book, so don't waste your time in watching it on Netflix. There are better shows and movies streaming currently on Netflix, avoid The Kissing Booth at any cost! Verdict: There are other better contemporary fiction available in the bookstore, that need your attention, but just not this one!
