I’ll be honest: I have never really tried guacamole. Okay, so why am I posting a recipe for it? Most everyone around me likes it, so I experiment with it (as I do with bananas, which I also don’t like). I have watched many people make it and have studied what they seem to like best. And although I’m not eager for the avocados, I love most of the other flavors. I figured I could give it a shot.
Early tests on my 2-year-old were amusing to watch. First he dipped a chip in like he wasn’t so sure and took a tiny bite. Pretty soon he was scooping up huge amounts to eat. He loved it. So, I thought some of you might, too. 🙂
- 1 avocado, ripe
- 1 – 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 c. onion, diced
- 1/4 c. tomato, diced
- 1 tbsp. cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- Juice of 1/2 lime
First, cut your avocado in half.
Remove the seed, and scoop out all the goodness. Put it into a bowl and mash it a little.
Mince your garlic, then add it to the bowl.
Chop your onion and add that too.
Add your cilantro, then squeeze your lime juice in.
Chop your tomato and add that too, along with sea salt. Stir it all together.
That’s it. You’re done! Serve with corn chips or fresh veggies as desired.
