Are you new to real food?
I’ve been interested in food and cooking my whole life. And I’ve been heavily involved in “real food” for two years now. It’s sometimes easy for me to forget how I felt two years or so ago, when I was fumbling around, wondering where to buy food (and what to buy), why I should soak grains (or avoid them), what the heck kombucha even was….
I’m guessing a significant portion of my audience is still in that transitioning-to-real-food stage. Or even “I just heard of it…what now?” I don’t feel like I’ve written enough about the very basics: the what, why, and most importantly, how.
That’s going to change.
New to Real Food
Starting next month (November), I’m beginning a multi-month series that’s going to involve tons of topics, plenty of other bloggers, and reader interaction. We’re going to get down to the nitty-gritty of real food. We’re going to look at all the basic questions on what to do and how to do it. I’ll post tutorials on many of the basic procedures you need. I’ll give you shopping guides for food and kitchen equipment. I’ll even be talking to several bloggers about “Real Food in Your Area,” where they’ll tell you about the resources that are local to them (and maybe you!) as well as their own tips and tricks in their real food kitchens.
What I need from all of you is some questions. Where are you in your real food journey? What issue is just confusing you right now? What do you need help with? I want to make sure that I address all these areas!
I’ll also be choosing three lucky readers to get a personalized real-food makeover. That is, you email me your story and answer some questions, and I’ll give you advice tailored to your family. All I ask is that you let me publish it. 🙂 It can be anonymous, if you prefer, so no worries about that. Please contact me if you’re interested in this! (I’ll choose based on your circumstances — who could most use it, and looking for three diverse families so it’s relevant to as many readers as possible.)
If anyone would like to share their “real food story” with us, I’ll be looking for some of those, too. I published a couple of them several months back, but it’s time to resurrect that idea!
News and Survey
As of last Sunday (Oct. 9), I have been blogging for two years! Can you believe it’s been that long? Things sure have changed since then! They’ve changed quite a lot since last year, too. At that time I had around 200 subscribers and basically no Facebook fans. Now I have over 1000 subscribers and almost 2700 Facebook fans! Pretty awesome. 🙂
Since my audience has changed so much, I wonder if you would all do me a small favor? Would you fill out my reader survey? It will give me a better idea of who you are and what you’re looking for from me. I’ve got some pretty awesome ideas up my sleeve right now, but I want to make sure they’re really what you all want!
